Dan Settle
Dan Settle is the co-owner and co-founder of Angel Paws Pet Cremation Services. Dan has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Animal Physiology from UC San Diego. He also holds a Master’s Degree in Organizational Leadership from National University. He has owned pets all of his life and understands the unique bond which can develop between pets and their owners.
Prior to opening Angel Paws, Dan worked as a K-9 handler for the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department for 16 years. Tragically, his K-9 partner “Urk” was killed in the line of duty in 2003. Urk was cremated by a local company and the service was so poor that Dan could not believe animals, especially a Sheriff’s service dog, could be treated in such a manner. Nevertheless, Dan continued with his law enforcement career until 2008 when a work related injury forced him into retirement.
After retiring from the Sheriff’s Department, Dan decided to partner with his brother, Chris, in order to open a pet cremation facility that superseded everyone’s expectations. What has emerged from this partnership is a small, family run company known as Angel Paws Pet Cremation Services. Since opening, Angel Paws has serviced thousands of local families in their time of need. Dan is proud to bring the elements of professionalism, integrity, and compassion to the pet aftercare industry.
